1. Introduction

Hot work activities, such as welding, cutting, grinding, and soldering, pose significant fire, explosion, and health hazards. Without proper controls, these operations can result in property damage, injuries, or fatalities.
A Hot Work Safety Inspection Checklist ensures that all safety measures are in place before, during, and after the task, in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and industry best practices.

2. Purpose of the Checklist

  • To verify that fire prevention and control measures are in place before starting hot work.
  • To ensure worker PPE and safety equipment are available and functional.
  • To confirm that the work area is safe and authorized for hot work activities.
  • To support compliance with hot work permits and legal safety regulations.
